Early morning delivery
Although retailers would have us believe that the build-up to Christmas starts as soon as Halloween displays are tidied away (if not before), an agency discussion revealed that the team at Garnett Keeler don’t start to feel festive until we’ve seen a) some Christmas lights and b) the Coca-Cola adverts on TV!
As one of Iveco’s key fleet customers in the UK is Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world’s third‑largest independent Coca‑Cola bottler, one of our favourite Christmas traditions gave us an idea for a feature which resulted in a striking six-page editorial feature in Commercial Motor’s 22nd December 2011 issue.
We invited the magazine’s Managing Editor to experience one of the first natural gas-powered heavy trucks in London hard at work delivering 20,000 bottles and cans around the capital at silly o’clock one crisp December morning. And to our delight he accepted!
So t’was a couple of weeks before Christmas, and not many creatures were stirring as the truck’s driver expertly navigated the city’s streets delivering the nation’s favourite fizzy drink, while being interviewed by Commercial Motor. We also had our photographer on hand, to capture the festive delivery in all its glory.
Not only do the photos look fantastic, the story reveals that that the guys at Coca-Cola Enterprises are so pleased with their gas-powered Stralis they have ordered another 13 to help handle their deliveries for London 2012. A great end to the year for Iveco.
