The importance of food safety across the production chain is a topic that cannot be underestimated. As well as its economic impacts on those in the food production sector, food safety has a direct effect on human health. In fact, according to a panel of experts that met earlier this year in Atlanta, USA, it’s the poultry industry’s most important issue.

We worked with Pfizer and a leading trade publication to initiate that expert panel, The Poultry Leadership Roundtable – a group of nine industry leaders brought together to discuss the risks and challenges involved with food safety. Participants agreed the event was a milestone for the industry, with the panel identifying five key principles to ensuring the food safety of poultry.
