Transport News Scottish Rewards
This year marked the 18th annual Transport News Scottish Rewards – a major event which we have been closely involved with since its creation in 1993, when it was formed as a joint idea between Iveco, Transport News and Garnett Keeler.
Unlike many traditional industry awards events, the Scottish Rewards has always been unique. Rather than being a black-tie dinner or formal luncheon, it’s held at 9am on a Friday morning in the centre of Glasgow. And a key ingredient of the morning are 540 cooked breakfasts – including haggis!
As in previous years, we were responsible for briefing and managing all arrangements with the hotel and production company, both during the build-up to the event and on the day itself.
Furthermore, this year the scale of the event moved to a new level thanks to the attendance of HRH The Princess Royal, who delivered a keynote speech to guests in her role as patron of industry charity Transaid. The Princess Royal also presented all 15 awards to the worthy winners and met privately with key sponsors and VIPs, culminating in one of the most memorable Scottish Rewards to-date.
And what follows? Well, we’re already working hard with Iveco towards next year’s Scottish Rewards – firmly in the diary for 9 November 2012.
