Our family-run agency was established by the late Philip and Sylvia Keeler in 1966. The agency’s early clients included Lambretta scooters and AC Cars, beginning a tradition of automotive-related PR.
Unusually for a PR agency, we are not fans of self-promotion. We would much rather tell our clients’ stories than our own. To that end we don’t enter PR award schemes, industry competitions or league tables. We don’t advertise for new business or issue press releases about our work. In 50 years, the vast majority of new clients have come to us through word of mouth recommendations from other clients, former clients and journalists. It’s a model we’re proud of, and one we are often told is ‘refreshing’.
Our core sectors include automotive, aviation, pharmaceutical, technology and transport & logistics. We are renowned B2B specialists, although as lines blur we are happy to have achieved several B2C successes. These days, we like to think we’re more H2H – human to human!
Mike KeelerManaging Director Mike’s career began as a reporter on the Southern Evening Echo before he made the switch to PR by joining his parents’ agency. Over the years he has been responsible for developing much of our animal health business in the UK and abroad. He was also a lead player in the creation of the Transport News Scottish Rewards event, now in its 23rd year.
James KeelerDirector James is the third-generation in the family business and heads up the agency’s automotive, transport & logistics accounts. He takes a hands-on approach to account management, continuing his late grandparents’ business ethos of having true passion for PR, always putting the client first and going out of his way to deliver. James is also a proud trustee of transport industry charity Transaid.
Lucy PitcherBusiness Development Director Lucy’s creative mind and passion for communications injects fresh thinking into all of our accounts. A former journalist and magazine editor, her experience spans regional, national and trade press, corporate comms and the public sector. Nowadays she leads on media training, film production and social media campaigns for the agency, and thrives on ensuring our clients get stand-out results and excellent value from their PR.
Sue Milne-BennettAs Group Account Director, Sue draws on her corporate, B2B and B2C experience working for brands, international companies and professional organisations in the UK, across Europe and Asia Pacific.
A former MD of PR agencies in New Zealand, she returned to the UK in 2014. With an emphasis on strategic development and relationship building, she values working alongside clients as a trusted advisor, taking the time to understand their business and ensuring delivery of programmes with positive outcomes.
Sarah Vassallo Sarah joined the agency in 2007 and is responsible for all financial aspects of the business. She works with the back office team to support all Client facing team members and to ensure smooth and efficient running of the office.
James BoleyAccount Director James handles all things wings and wheels. An award-winning former international B2B journalist with eight years of PR experience working with everything from small-scale start-ups to multinational corporations, James develops PR strategies that deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes and drive forward business for clients.
Joe Clarke Systems and Distribution Manager Joe is at the helm of our IT and systems, and in charge of all of our media distribution. His life-long interest in technology has stood him in good stead since joining the team in 1987, and he is adept at ensuring our systems remain at the cutting edge.
Gary BakerGary works as an Account Manager for a mixture of automotive, transport and logistics clients. He brings nine years of journalism and publishing experience to the role, across a range of both consumer and B2B titles - most recently working across four major publications in the global aviation sector.
Sonya HaydenSonya provides day-to-day account management and strategic support to clients across the agency’s Pharmaceutical, Agriculture and B2B sectors. She brings more than 15 years’ communications experience in to the role, having managed B2B marketing for information technology and retail clients, and B2C public relations for a multinational health brand.
Lauren RosserA former journalist and magazine editor, Lauren works as an Account Manager supporting clients across the agency’s Pharmaceutical, Agriculture and B2B sectors. She brings 18 years’ journalism experience to the role, having worked in newspapers in Australia, and media / creative agencies in London managing marketing projects for UHNW clients.
Tim NixonA former music journalist and online features editor for a national newspaper, Tim is an Account Manager for clients in the automotive, logistics and transport sectors. With 16 years of journalism under his belt - including a stint as a radio presenter - Tim brings a passion for writing, marketing and public relations to his role at the company.
Ian CollierIan is an Account Manager for a mixture of automotive, transport and logistics clients. He brings more than 20 years of journalistic experience including 16 of those at Sky News. Ian's passion for writing has seen him work across print, digital and television media.
Jason PritchardJason is a Senior Account Executive and supports our automotive and logistics clients. After starting his career at an award-winning regional newspaper in 2010, Jason made the transition into PR and brings with him valuable experience and his own passion and enthusiasm for the industry.
Martin SpencerGraphic designer Martin’s talent for translating complex concepts into original artwork for print and digital is second to none and he leads our studio team in all aspects of artwork and illustration. A Crystal Palace fan for his sins, Martin is hard-working, straight-talking and results-driven.
Rebecca GleaveRebecca is an Account Executive and joined Garnett Keeler as a graduate after three years studying towards a degree in Public Relations. With a passion for creating engaging content and executing successful PR campaigns, she is keen to develop her skills within the industry.
Amy CrawfordAmy joined Garnett Keeler in 2017 after three years working in HR. She has excellent analytical skills and is responsible for completing all of the agency's media monitoring analysis and KPI reporting, as well as supporting event management projects.
